Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War
Commander-in-Chief Neil D. Cranmer was born on February 19, 1887, in Canton, Pennsylvania. He was the grandson of Moses Cevolbaugh(?) who served with the 141st Pennsylvnia Volunteers. He served as New York Department Commander in 1923-24 and as Commander-in-Chief in 1946-47. Neil also served in the 309th Inf.-78 Divison in WWI.
At the time of his death in April 1970 he belonged to General Diven Camp #77 in Elmira, New York, where he lived at 568 Robinson Building.
