Samuel Ake Shattuck Samuel Ake Shattuck was born May 31, 1842. He enlisted on November 18, 1861 as a Private in Company B, 73rd Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded on July 2, 1863 during the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He was mustered out of service on January 24, 1865 at Columbus, Ohio. Samuel Ake Shattuck died November 12, 1940. He was the last Union Civil War Veteran from Pike County Ohio. He was buried at Pleasant Presbyterian Cemetery in Green Township, Ross County, Ohio.
