Harrison Naylor

Harrison Naylor served as a Private in Company L., 1st Regiment Ohio Volunteer Cavalry. During the war, Harrison was captured by a squad of Rebel cavalry August 28, 1864, while engaging in digging sweet potatoes at a place called Red Oak near the Atlanta and West Point Railroad. Later the same day, he was rescued by a Corporal Henry Duden along with the capture of four Rebel prisoners, their horses, and equipment. Also during the war, he served as one of General George H. Thomas' bodyguards. Following the war, he served as the Commander of the Lucas Grand Army of the Republic Post #462 in Lucas, Kansas, during 1902.
