Greetings:

Brothers it has come to my attention that the Governor State of New York is contemplating the stopping of funding for the New York Flag restoration Program at Saratoga Springs, NY.

This project has been on going for the past several years and the attempt is to conserve and preserve the largest collections of Civil War battle flags.

The amount of money that will not be funded is very small compared to the whole of the State Budget. I do recognize that during these time of very severe budget funding, the Finance Committee of the State of New York will and have looked for soft areas to cut from the budget.

I am directing the Commander of all the Camps in the New York Department to mail or email both their State Reps and the Governor of the State of New York.

It is my hope that the funding will not be reduced and if the funding is reduced, that it not be of a level that the program will not be completely lost.
