1. It is with great sorrow that I report the passing of Frances Woolson Campbell, daughter of Comrade Albert Woolson. Mrs. Campbell passed away on 3 October 2008, at the age of 99 in Duluth, Minnesota. Her father served as a Drummer Boy in Company C, First Minnesota Volunteer Heavy Artillery and was the last Union Veteran of the Civil War rising to the rank of S enior Vice Commander-In-Chief of the GAR. He was also the recipient of a Congressional Gold Medal and an honorary Commander-In-Chief, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
