Brothers:
It is my sad duty to report that Past Commander-in-Chief Fred H. Combs, Jr., a
tried, true
and faithful member of the Lincoln Camp No. 100, Department of New Jersey,
Sons of
Union Veterans of the Civil War, was on 23 December 1996, called by our great
Commander to the Grand Army above. Wherefore, in testimony of his loyalty to
his
country and her glorious principles of freedom; of his private character as a
citizen, and
as a true and loyal Brother of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, I
hereby
direct that all Camp and Department Charters should be draped in mourning for
a period
of thirty days as an expression of our regard for our fallen Brother.
