Office of National Council of Administration

Brother Don L. Martin, PDC

Department of Ohio

Sergeant Richard Enderlin Camp #73

Greetings Brothers,

I write to request your support as I seek re-election to the office of National Council of Administration at the 133rd National Encampment in Georgia, 2014.  I appreciate the vote of confidence our Brothers continue to give me and I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve our Order on the Council.  I hope to continue doing so.

In addition to attending all of the Council of Administration Meetings in the past 3 years, I have served on the Life Member Reimbursement Subcommittee, assisted National Treasurer Rich Orr by compiling a synapsis of the “Charitable” programs of the SUVCW for submission to the IRS, and worked on the Regulation Committee as an Aide.  I have participated in events at the National Lincoln Tomb Observances in Springfield, IL and served as the Sons of Veterans Reserve Flag Bearer and Rife Escort for SVR Commander Major Gen. Robert E. Grim in Remembrance Day Parades at Gettysburg, PA.  I remain active at the Department level as a member of the Ohio Department Council of Administration, continue to serve as Enderlin Camp #73 Patriotic Instructor, and actively participate in our Camp events.     Our Order does an outstanding job preserving and perpetuating the GAR, honoring Union Veterans, and providing Patriotic Education and I am an avid participant in these efforts.  We face challenges with our tax status, recruiting, acquisition of head stones from the Veteran’s Administration, revising Memorial University, solving the difficulties with Sequential Event insurance and getting our name out there to the public.  We are working on solutions to these and other issues and I ask for your vote to allow me to continue this work and the representation of our Brothers on SUVCW Council of Administration.

Yours In Fraternity, Charity & Loyalty,

Donald L. Martin, PDC
