“Pennies for Patriots”
This year one of the National President’s projects will be gathering Pennies for Patriots
All departments will receive a box in their December Per Capita Packets in which to collect them. When the box is full cash them in and send your check at the end of the year to the National President.

Pennies for Patriots started in 2005 as a vehicle for the public to financially-assist injured warriors returning from conflict with combat injuries. Returning warriors face a host of challenges and have suffered severe injuries that those in previous wars would have died from on the battlefield. Thankfully, they survived to fight another day, but their fight is to regain mobility, cognitive function, employment skills and financial success in exchange for their brave service to our country.
Pennies for Patriots is the premier organization for assessing those needs, raising funds and assisting applicants in achieving success in life upon return and recovery. Visit this project at

Historian’s Projects: Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic Grave Markers! These are $26 each which includes shipping. Order one for a loved one or for yourself. It is the goal of the National Historian to place a grave marker at every Past National President’s grave possible. You can assist the Historian with this work by researching your Department to determine where our ladies are buried. This makes a great Circle or Department project. Poetry Books! In years gone by, many of our Sisters waxed poetic when sending or presenting reports and communications to the national organization. Fortunately for us many of these were printed in our old Journals, and not only serve to illustrate the talents of many of our members, but also their heartfelt devotion to the Veterans and our organization.
