What is the latest on this story? Has a decision been made? Will the monument be installed as planned? This event is due to be held next month and I am trying to plan whether or not to attend. My great-great-grandfather fought in the Battle of Olustee and I would like to honor his contribution. Thanks.

Could the SUVCW get with the SCV and erect a battlefield monument to ALL soldiers from both sides who died in that battle? In Florida, Confederate passion still exists, and should not be quashed. The War was fought primarily on Southern homelands, and the pain still exists generations later.
